1. IchtyologieRelatif à l’hyomandibule.L’hyomandibule est le grand membre le plus dorsal de l’arc hyoïde. Il commence à s’ossifier dans le bord dorsal du cartilage hyosymplectique près du foramen hyomandibulaire.

Ichtyologie(Par ellipse) Os hyomandibulaire.On distingue un hyomandibulaire, un cératohyal, un basihyal ; l’hypohyal manque, à moins que comme l’admettent certains auteurs, il ne soit incorporé au basihyal.Antéro-dorsalement il est articulé avec l’hyomandibulaire et antéro-ventralement avec l’interoperculaire.
