Pr\u00e8s d\u2019une porte o\u00f9 luit du sang, sur les battants,
\nMon c\u0153ur, l\u00e0-bas, est haletant ;
\nPr\u00e8s d\u2019une porte, en des sous-sols, voisins de havres,
\nMon c\u0153ur surveille au loin de terribles cadavres.<\/p>\n

Ce sont des morts qu\u2019on y apporte,
\n\u00c0 bras d\u2019hommes ou sur des brancards noirs ;
\nDes morts anciens qu\u2019on apporte, le soir,
\nEt que l\u2019on jette en blocs,
\nAvec des chocs, contre la porte.<\/p>\n

L\u00e0-bas, mon c\u0153ur surveille un multiple remords,
\nLe sien, qui heurte et bat la porte ;
\nEt moi je suis son \u00e2me effray\u00e9e \u2014 et la mort
\nPr\u00e8s de mon c\u0153ur, s\u2019est assise contre la porte.<\/p>\n

Ce qu\u2019ils se disent entre eux, on ne le comprend pas,
\nMais ce qu\u2019ils se disent, qu\u2019importe !
\nJe n\u2019entends rien, sinon mon c\u0153ur
\nPleurer et se tuer contre la porte.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est \u00e9touff\u00e9 comme de l\u2019ombre,
\nCe battement, contre la porte,
\n\u00c0 l\u2019unisson de chaque mort
\nQue l\u2019on jette contre la porte.<\/p>\n

La nuit surplombe les tombeaux.
\nEt je meurs d\u2019\u00e9couter contre la porte
\nMon c\u0153ur bless\u00e9, mon c\u0153ur cass\u00e9,
\nMorceaux de c\u0153ur, contre la porte
