En un creux de terrain aussi profond qu\u2019un antre,
\nLes \u00e9tangs s\u2019\u00e9talaient dans leur sommeil moir\u00e9,
\nEt servaient d\u2019abreuvoir au b\u00e9tail bigarr\u00e9,
\nQui s\u2019y baignait, le corps dans l\u2019eau jusqu\u2019\u00e0 mi-ventre.<\/p>\n

Les troupeaux descendaient, par des chemins penchants :
\nVaches \u00e0 pas tr\u00e8s lents, chevaux men\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019amble,
\nEt les b\u0153ufs noirs et roux qui souvent, tous ensemble,
\nBeuglaient, le cou tendu, vers les soleils couchants.<\/p>\n

Tout s\u2019an\u00e9antissait dans la mort coutumi\u00e8re,
\nDans la chute du jour : couleurs, parfums, lumi\u00e8re,
\nExplosions de s\u00e8ve et splendeurs d\u2019horizons ;<\/p>\n

Des brouillards s\u2019\u00e9tendaient en linceuls aux moissons,
\nDes routes s\u2019enfon\u00e7aient dans le soir \u2014 infinies,
\nEt les grands b\u0153ufs semblaient r\u00e2ler ces
