C\u2019\u00e9tait la solitude et sa f\u00e9conde ivresse ;
\nLe vent des ciels du soir, plein d\u2019une ample vigueur,
\nDe la nue \u00e0 la terre \u00e9lan\u00e7ait ses caresses :
\nJe recevais avec une avide all\u00e9gresse
\nCet univers dissous qui p\u00e9n\u00e9trait mon c\u0153ur !<\/p>\n

Et l\u2019espace, et l\u2019espoir, et l\u2019\u00e9ternit\u00e9 m\u00eame
\nDevenaient familiers \u00e0 mon docile esprit ;
\nLes astres d\u00e9celaient d\u2019ineffables probl\u00e8mes
\n\u00c0 cette \u00e2me attentive o\u00f9 rien n\u2019est circonscrit.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Alors, me surprenant, \u2014 \u00f4 toi qui seul existes, \u2014
\nAmour, iniquit\u00e9 sublime, tu survins,
\n\u00d4 chasseur turbulent, voleur jaloux et triste,
\nFier de ton indigence et du d\u00e9sir divin.<\/p>\n

Tu dispersas l\u2019immense et vivant paysage
\nQui sous mon front s\u00e9duit mettait ses bonds l\u00e9gers ;
\nEt, pitoyable autant que f\u00e9roce et sauvage,
\nTu fixas dans cet \u00eatre, \u00e0 jamais ravag\u00e9,
\nLa bont\u00e9 de tes mains et l\u2019air de ton
