Adieu, mes fid\u00e8les amours,
\n\ufeffAdieu le charme de ma vie !
\nNotre f\u00e9licit\u00e9 d\u2019amertume est suivie,
\nEt nous avons bien cher pay\u00e9 quelques beaux jours !
\n\ufeffMais le remords ne trouble point notre \u00e2me,
\n\ufeffEt, comme toi, fid\u00e8le en mes douleurs,
\nContre tous les plaisirs d\u2019une nouvelle flamme
\n\ufeffJe n\u2019\u00e9changerais pas mes pleurs !<\/p>\n

\ufeffPendant le jour, \u00e9cartant ton image,
\n\ufeffMes souvenirs et mes v\u0153ux superflus,
\nJe supporte mon sort ; et, presque avec courage,
\n\ufeffJe me dis : Il ne viendra plus !<\/p>\n

Le soir, en ma douleur, et plus faible et plus tendre,
\nOubliant que pour nous il n\u2019est plus d\u2019avenir,
\nJe me laisse entra\u00eener au bonheur de t\u2019attendre,
\n\ufeffEt je me dis : Il va venir !<\/p>\n

Mais quand l\u2019heure a d\u00e9truit cet espoir plein de charmes,
\nJe plains, sans l\u2019accuser, un amant si parfait ;
\nJe regarde le ciel, en essuyant mes larmes,
\n\ufeffEt je me dis : Il a bien fait !<\/p>\n

Oui, de trop de regrets l\u2019esp\u00e9rance est suivie :
\nJe renonce au bonheur. J\u2019ai perdu mes beaux jours.
\n\ufeffAdieu, le charme de ma vie,
\n\ufeffAdieu, mes fid\u00e8les amours
