Si j\u2019\u00e9tais assez grande,
\n\ufeffJe voudrais voir
\nL\u2019effet de ma guirlande
\n\ufeffDans le miroir.
\nEn montant sur la chaise,
\n\ufeffJe l\u2019atteindrais ;
\nMais sans aide et sans aise,
\n\ufeffJe tomberais.<\/p>\n

La dame plus heureuse,
\n\ufeffSans faire un pas,
\nSans quitter sa causeuse,
\n\ufeffDe haut en bas,
\nDans une glace claire,
\n\ufeffComme au hasard,
\nPour apprendre \u00e0 se plaire
\n\ufeffJette un regard.<\/p>\n

Ah ! c\u2019est bien incommode
\n\ufeffD\u2019avoir huit ans !
\nIl faut suivre la mode
\n\ufeffEt perdre un temps !\u2026
\nPeut-on aimer la ville
\n\ufeffEt les salons !
\nOn s\u2019en va si tranquille
\n\ufeffDans les vallons !<\/p>\n

Quand ma m\u00e8re qui m\u2019aime
\n\ufeffEt me d\u00e9fend,
\nEt qui veille elle-m\u00eame
\n\ufeffSur son enfant,
\nM\u2019emporte o\u00f9 l\u2019on respire
\n\ufeffLes fleurs et l\u2019air,
\nSi son enfant soupire,
\n\ufeffC\u2019est un \u00e9clair !<\/p>\n

Les ruisseaux des prairies
\n\ufeffFont des psych\u00e9s
\nO\u00f9 libres et fleuries,
\n\ufeffLes fronts pench\u00e9s,
\nDans l\u2019eau qui se balance,
\n\ufeffSans nous hausser,
\nNous allons en silence
\n\ufeffNous voir passer.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est frais dans le bois sombre,
\n\ufeffEt puis c\u2019est beau
\nDe danser comme une ombre
\n\ufeffAu bord de l\u2019eau !
\nLes enfants de mon \u00e2ge,
\n\ufeffCourant toujours,
\nDevraient tous au village
\n\ufeffPasser leurs jours
